Job Description Job Description
Fort Worth, TX Monday-Friday, day shift 90-day contract to hire
Our client is building on a campus that stays open the entire time. Crews are working right next to occupied, operating space in Fort Worth, and the client needs a Site Safety Manager who can hold every trade to their safety program while protecting the people inside. It's a contract-to-hire with a path to a permanent role.
About the role
You'll be the on-site safety lead, reporting to the client's project team and working closely with the facility's own staff. Success looks like every worker oriented before they start, every crew's pre-task plan reviewed at the work area, corrective actions tracked to closure by subcontractor, and infection control and life safety measures holding up next to occupied space every day. Your first week sets the tone: you'll assess the site's existing safety procedures, deliver a written summary of the gaps, and restart orientation for the subcontractors already on site.
This is a hands-on role, about 45 hours a week, with standing authority to stop work. You'll hold subcontractors you don't employ to the client's program, often with occupied space on the other side of the barrier. It's also a local role, with no travel or per diem. For the 90-day assignment you'll be employed by OccuPros, and the client is looking to hire the right person directly at the end of it.
What you'll do
- Inspect the site daily, document findings, and track corrective actions to closure by subcontractor
- Review subcontractor safety plans and prequalification against the client's program, and run site-specific orientation for every worker who arrives
- Walk through each crew's pre-task plan and job hazard analysis with them every day, and lead toolbox talks, stand-downs, and coaching for subcontractor supervisors
- Manage permits for hot work, confined space entry, excavation, and critical lifts, and coordinate shutdowns and utility interruptions with the facility
- Keep infection control and interim life safety measures in place at the construction interface, including barrier integrity, negative pressure, egress protection, and alarm and sprinkler impairments
- Lead incident response, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action, with injury recordkeeping support and first aid on site
- Deliver a weekly site report, plus immediate notice of recordable injuries, high-potential near misses, and any regulator or owner safety contact
What you'll bring
Required:
- Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction card and current First Aid/CPR certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Nice to have:
- OSHA 510 or OSHA 500
- CHST, or progress toward an ASP or CSP
- Healthcare construction experience, including phased infection control and interim life safety work
- Familiarity with cranes, rigging, and signal person requirements
- Established relationships with Dallas-Fort Worth trade contractors
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
