Emergency Medicine Physician

Assignment length: 3 months

Practice setting: Emergency Department at a Critical Access Hospital

Location: Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts

Hospital size: 25 beds

Annual ED volume: Approximately 13,000 visits

Average daily census: patients

Patient volume: Approximately 2.5 3 patients per hour

Patient population: All ages, with approximately 14% pediatric volume

EMR: Epic

Limited on-site specialty support

Experience in community, rural, or critical access hospital settings is preferred.

Approximately night shifts per month

Shift hours: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM

Scheduled shifts with no call

Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 3 4 months

No assistance with obtaining a Massachusetts license.

First 8 hours of orientation are non-billable.

Driving to the facility is preferred, but flights are also accepted.

Hospital-provided housing is available.

Ferry costs are covered by the hospital.

Rental car reimbursement is capped at $65 per day.

Provide emergency medicine coverage in a rural Critical Access Hospital.

Evaluate and treat patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.

Manage a broad range of emergency conditions with limited on-site specialty support.

Board certified in Emergency Medicine required.

Internal Medicine and Family Practice physicians will not be accepted.

Massachusetts medical license required.

ACLS certification required.

Massachusetts DEA registration required.

CSR not required.

Minimum of 1 year of experience.

Name clearance and NPI number required.
