About Us
River City Industries (RCI) is a San Antonio-based sheet metal and precision components manufacturer serving the aerospace and defense industries. We are AS9100 and ISO 9001 certified, and our work supports customers who demand tight tolerances and dependable quality. We're looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our shop floor team.
About the Role
As a Quality Control Inspector, you'll verify that parts meet engineering and customer requirements at key points in the production process. No prior QC experience is required - on-the-job training is provided. We're looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn precision measurement.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Perform in-process and final inspections using calipers, pin gauges, radius gauges, and other measurement tools
- Record measurement data accurately to support job/part traceability
- Identify and report nonconforming parts, or measurements
- Communicate with production and quality team members to resolve inspection issues
- Maintain organized, accurate inspection records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read technical drawings (GD&T knowledge a plus, not required - training provided)
- Comfortable using precision measurement tools, or willing to learn
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy
- Reliable attendance and ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Basic computer skills for data entry
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods on a shop floor
- Ability to lift up to 45lbs as needed
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
