Position Overview
We are a multidisciplinary design firm seeking an experienced Senior Landscape Architect with a strong background in land development, planning, and entitlement processes. The ideal candidate will bring 5-10 years of experience in landscape architecture and site development, with a proven ability to navigate municipal requirements, coordinate with jurisdictional agencies, and guide projects through the planning and approval process.
This role combines landscape architecture and land development planning, requiring strong technical design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines. The successful candidate will play an integral role in preparing plans, coordinating zoning and entitlement submittals, and delivering high-quality design solutions that meet client objectives and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare landscape architecture and land development plans, including conceptual designs, site plans, and construction documents.
- Coordinate planning entitlements, zoning applications, and development approvals with municipalities and jurisdictional agencies.
- Prepare, review, and submit planning documents and project applications in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, consultants, and project stakeholders to coordinate project plans and deliverables.
- Assist in navigating zoning requirements, land use regulations, and municipal review processes.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
- Communicate with clients, consultants, and agency representatives throughout the planning, design, and approval process.
- Support projects from initial planning and conceptual design through permitting and final approvals.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, land development, or a related field.
- Strong experience with planning entitlements, zoning, and municipal approval processes.
- Proven ability to prepare and coordinate planning submittals and development plans.
- Proficiency in landscape architecture design and drafting software, such as AutoCAD and other relevant design tools.
- Working knowledge of land use regulations, zoning codes, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and manage competing priorities.
- A degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with city planning departments and other regulatory agencies.
- Experience managing or coordinating multiple land development projects simultaneously.
