As an E&I Foreman, you'll direct field crews through installation, testing, commissioning support, and turnover. You'll work alongside other trades and project teams to keep work moving safely, meet quality standards, and deliver a complex project built at significant scale.
What you'll do
- Lead electricians, instrument technicians, apprentices, and helpers across an assigned crew, area, or work package.
- Review drawings, specifications, work packages, cable schedules, and installation details before work begins.
- Plan daily activities, assign work, lead pre-task planning, and make sure the crew understands job hazards.
- Supervise installation of conduit, cable tray, conductors, grounding, lighting, panels, switchgear, transformers, controls, instrumentation, and equipment connections.
- Verify work against project documents, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and quality standards.
- Track labor hours, installed quantities, materials, inspections, punch items, constraints, and progress.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, terminations, startup support, energization readiness, commissioning activities, and turnover documentation.
- Coordinate with other trades and raise safety, quality, schedule, or production concerns promptly.
- Coach crew members and address unsafe behavior, workmanship issues, or production challenges.
What you'll bring
- At least 7 years of electrical or instrumentation construction experience, including lead-person or foreman responsibilities.
- Hands-on knowledge of E&I installation, testing practices, tools, and safe-work requirements.
- Ability to read and apply one-line diagrams, schematics, plans, specifications, cable schedules, and installation details.
- Experience planning daily work, assigning labor, estimating material needs, tracking production, and meeting schedule commitments.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout, and electrical safe-work practices.
- Strong communication, documentation, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet project screening and site-access requirements.
Experience that's a plus
- Data center, mission-critical, semiconductor, power generation, or industrial construction.
- Work with switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, grounding, controls, terminations, testing, or commissioning support.
- Journeyman electrician license, where applicable.
- OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, CPR/first aid, or equivalent safety training.
- Experience documenting field progress and completion in digital systems.
