Position Title: Construction Laborer / Material Handler
Job Description:
Elite Drywall and Taping, Inc. is seeking a reliable, hardworking Construction Laborer / Material Handler to support our drywall crews on residential and commercial construction projects. The primary responsibilities include stocking and organizing drywall materials, delivering materials to job sites, assisting with material pickups, and maintaining clean and organized work areas by removing construction debris and trash.
The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of drywall and construction materials, an understanding of general construction job-site practices, and the ability to work efficiently with our field crews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Stocking and Handling: Receive, unload, transport, stock, and organize drywall sheets, joint compound, tape, metal studs, fasteners, and other construction materials.
- Material Delivery: Deliver materials to designated job sites and distribute them to the appropriate work areas as directed by the foreman or project supervisor.
- Material Pickup: Pick up materials and supplies from building material suppliers, warehouses, and other designated locations as needed.
- Job-Site Cleanup: Collect and remove trash, scrap drywall, leftover materials, and construction debris. Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites.
- Inventory and Organization: Help track material quantities, identify shortages, organize leftover materials, and notify the supervisor when additional supplies are needed.
- Crew Support: Assist drywall installers and tapers with material preparation, moving supplies, and other general labor tasks as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Follow job-site safety requirements, use proper lifting techniques, and maintain awareness of hazards when handling materials and removing debris.
- Vehicle and Equipment Care: Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles and tools used for material transportation, when applicable.
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of drywall materials, tools, and construction practices is required or strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in drywall, construction labor, material handling, or job-site cleanup is preferred.
- Ability to identify common drywall materials and supplies.
- Ability to lift, carry, load, and unload construction materials and debris.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable driving record, if driving is required.
- Reliable transportation to job sites and the ability to travel between project locations.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew.

Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading materials. The employee must be able to perform physical tasks safely and work in active construction environments.
Position Summary
The main purpose of this position is to keep our crews supplied with the materials they need, transport materials between suppliers and job sites, and ensure job sites remain clean and organized. Basic drywall trade knowledge is important so the employee can recognize materials, understand crew needs, and help prevent delays caused by missing supplies.
