• Job Requirements: The physician will have primary privileges in cardiovascular disease, including inpatient admissions, consultations, evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment of patients with cardiovascular conditions. Responsibilities and approved procedures include arterial catheter insertion, elective cardioversion, EKG interpretation with ambulatory monitoring, central venous catheter placement, transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, exercise or pharmacologic stress testing, administration of antiplatelet, anticoagulant, and thrombolytic agents, transcutaneous and temporary transvenous pacemaker placement, emergency pericardiocentesis, and tilt-table testing. Additional invasive cardiology privileges include coronary angiography, right and left heart catheterization, hemodynamic monitoring, intra-aortic balloon pump insertion, elective pericardiocentesis, and fluoroscopy use.

• Required clinical activity in the last 24 months (case logs): Applicant must provide documentation (case list) of provision of surgical services representative of the scope and complexity of the privileges requested during the previous 24 months. Case list must include diagnosis or procedure and date, and facility where performed.
