Mechanical Designer II/III (Creo / Windchill)

Location: Tallassee, AL (hybrid, 3 days onsite; relocation considered)

Type: Full-time, direct hire

We're hiring a Mechanical Designer for a manufacturer of industrial products. You'll support new product development and tactical projects by creating and revising 3D solid models and engineering drawings, and managing the engineering change and release process. You'll work with engineering groups to turn notes, sketches, existing drawings, design concepts, verbal instructions and engineering specs into detailed models and drawings.

What you'll do

- Create and document 3D CAD models, drawings, bills of materials and other engineering documentation with minimal supervision

- Partner with project engineers to develop design concepts

- Prepare drawing documentation for formal production releases

- Process engineering change requests, including checking and auditing others' work

- Help mentor newer designers and engineers

What you'll need

- Strong MCAD skills, especially 3D solid modeling; PTC Creo preferred (SolidWorks considered with some Creo exposure)

- Hands-on Windchill (PLM) experience, ideally with Options and Variants and BOM management

- Experience creating and altering 2D and 3D mechanical models and drawings of products, components and mechanical systems

- 2-year associate's degree plus 3+ years of CAD design work, or 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Nice to have

- Experience with plastic, cast or machined parts
