Neonatology Physician Assistant

Job description

Start Date: Mid-August 2025
Schedule: Weekend coverage preferred; 12-hour or 24-hour shifts available

Practice Setting:

  • 16-bed Level III NICU
  • 3 full-time neonatologists and 6+1 per diem pediatric mid-level providers
  • Average census: 8 9 patients
  • Average admissions: 0 2 per shift
  • Night coverage includes Level I well-baby nursery issues
  • Neonatologist on-site during days and on-call 24/7

Responsibilities:

  • Attend all C-sections
  • Supervise NICU RNs and ancillary staff
  • Perform NICU-level procedures including: Intubation, BiPAP/CPAP, Chest tube insertion, UAC/UVC placement, LPs, arterial/central lines, Exchange transfusions, Management of acute hemodynamic/volume issues
  • No neonatal transport duties
