Job description

  • Open dates: Dec 18, 7:00 AM - Jan 1, 5:00 PM
  • Onsite (weekdays): Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • On-call (weekday evenings): Mon-Fri, 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • On-call (weekends): Sat 7:00 AM - Mon 7:00 AM
  • Call schedule: STEMI call aligned with unassigned call and noninvasive coverage; call ratio 9 VCS to 7 RHV (TBD)
  • Call volume: Fewer STEMIs (159 activations in 2025; 47% canceled); more phone calls than call-backs; emergent call-backs a little less than every other day
  • Workload: 2 inpatient admissions/day; no clinic
  • Facility: 250 beds; 30 ICU beds; Trauma level: none
  • Team: Other interventional cardiologists on-site (VCS: 18 total, 4 cover MRMC; RHV: 5)
  • EMR: Epic
  • Procedures: Balloon angioplasties; coronary angioplasty; PCI; heart catheterization; medical management of vascular disease; coronary angiograms; embolic protection; carotid artery stenting; atherectomy
  • Certifications: BC, ACLS, BLS, VA license
  • Credentialing: Emergency/Temporary privileges available; facility indicates it will grant temporary privileges and may wait for license
