Sales & Operations Support Associate - Helmuth Builders
Full-Time Up to $20/hr + Commission/Bonuses Paid Travel Time
Helmuth Builders has proudly served Virginia since 1989, providing high quality sheds, garages, cabins, and outdoor structures built with craftsmanship and integrity. We are seeking a reliable, customer focused Sales & Operations Support Associate to support our teams across multiple locations and help ensure a smooth, positive experience for every client.
This role blends customer service, sales support, operational coordination, and on site assistance. It's ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast paced environment, and communicates confidently with customers and coworkers.
Position Overview
As a Sales & Operations Support Associate, you will greet customers, assist with product education, manage transactions, and support daily operations across our Harrisonburg, Staunton, Ruckersville, and Front Royal locations. You will also play a key role in scheduling deliveries, moves, and warranty service, helping ensure our customers receive timely and accurate support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting clients, answering questions, and guiding them through the sales process
- Operate POS systems and manage transactions with accuracy
- Assist with product demonstrations and explain features, benefits, and pricing
- Use sales and retail math skills for pricing adjustments and transaction management
- Support scheduling of deliveries, building moves, and warranty service appointments
- Communicate with customers regarding timelines, expectations, and follow up needs
- Collaborate with team members to meet sales goals and maintain a positive work environment
- Rotate between multiple Helmuth Builders locations as needed, including shed construction at our shop, and becoming a certified pilot car driver for oversized loads
- Assist with inventory tasks, lot organization, shed construction and maintenance, and general operational duties when not working directly in sales
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support overall company operations
Experience & Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher preferred; candidates with substantial relevant experience may also be considered.
- Previous sales or retail experience preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems and transaction handling required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of inventory management or sales strategies is a plus
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and stay organized
- Valid Virginia Driver's License and clean driving record required
Compensation & Benefits
- Up to $20.00 per hour
