Job Details Responsibilities The associate will have the opportunity to handle matters through multiple stages of litigation, including: Managing an active civil-litigation caseload Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs and discovery Taking and defending depositions Conducting fact and legal research Reviewing medical records, expert materials and damages documentation Preparing witnesses and experts Attending hearings, mediations and court appearances Working directly with clients, insurers and opposing counsel Assisting with trial preparation and, depending on experience, gaining increased trial responsibility Developing litigation strategy alongside partners and senior attorneys Practice Areas The firm's civil-defense practice includes: Automobile Liability Trucking Liability Aviation Law Premises Liability Construction Law Professional Liability Insurance Law Products Liability Catastrophic Injury & Wrongful Death Homeowners Liability Defamation and related civil disputes Qualifications 2-7 years of litigation experience preferred Georgia Bar admission required or ability to become admitted promptly Prior insurance defense, general liability or civil-defense litigation experience strongly preferred Experience with depositions, discovery, motion practice and case management Strong legal writing and analytical skills Ability to manage matters independently while working collaboratively with partners and clients Trial, hearing or substantive courtroom experience is a plus Interested in hearing more?
