Job Description Job Description
About us
We design and manufacture architectural cast products - GFRC, GFRG, FRP, access doors, column covers, decorative moldings, and related molded elements - for hospitality, commercial, and high-end residential projects. Work moves from estimating through engineering into mold/CNC scheduling and the shop. Your drawings and mold packages are what the floor runs.
The role
We're hiring a Drafter / Engineer focused on mold design and shop drawings. You'll own the package from approved scope to build-ready molds and shop drawings so CNC and production can cut and cast without guesswork.
What you'll do
Mold design (core)
- Design molds/tooling for cast architectural parts: part geometry, parting lines, draft, undercuts, mold splits, and mold counts
- Coordinate mold packages with CNC and scheduling so capacity and sequence match the shop calendar
- Refine molds from approved samples, first-article feedback, and shop issues
Shop drawings (core)
- Produce accurate shop drawings and details (plans, elevations, sections, part marks, joints, embeds, attachments)
- Issue revisions cleanly from RFIs, field measures, COs, and approved samples; keep revision history tight
- Align drawings to what was sold and what can be built - flag thickness, attachment, logistics, and mold conflicts early
Across both
- Support access doors, column covers, decorative ceiling/molding lines, and custom project work
- Coordinate with estimating, PMs, and the shop
- Maintain drawing standards, file naming, and job-folder discipline
- Keep engineering status current on live jobs, including CO / revision packages
What you bring
- 3+ years mold design and/or shop-drawing experience in architectural cast products, GFRC/GFRG/composites, prefab, millwork, or similar custom manufacturing
- Strong CAD - AutoCAD required; SolidWorks, Inventor, or Rhino strongly preferred for mold work
- Proven mold thinking: draft, parting, how parts release, how molds get CNC'd and used on the floor
- Ability to read architectural/structural drawings and turn them into manufacturable parts and mold packages
- Clear dimensioning, package ownership, and practical shop sense
- Organized communicator; comfortable in a production calendar and shared Drive /
- Bonus: CNC mold experience, Formglas / cast-stone background, hospitality projects (Vegas / West Coast)
Nice to have
- Direct CNC mold programming or CAM handoff experience
- Access-door or column-cover product lines
- Spanish bilingual (shop floor coordination)
