Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator who can work with MIG and TIG welding, read prints, and assist in fabrication of metal assemblies. The role includes welding, some assembly, preparing material, finishing welds, and ensuring that final products meet quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metals, in accordance with project/print specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, fabrication drawings
- Assist in cutting, fitting, and fabricating components before/after welding (grinding, prepping)
- Inspect welds for quality, proper penetration, finish, and meet tolerance standards
- Work with fabricators to assemble metal parts; ensure alignment and fit up are correct
- Maintain welding equipment, plates, rods; perform routine maintenance and safety checks
- Keep a clean, safe work environment; adhere to safety procedures and protective gear
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in MIG and TIG welding; preferably in a fabrication environment
- Ability to read prints and welding symbols accurately
- Experience with metal fabrication / assembly; knowledge of different metals and welding parameters
- Strong attention to detail; ability to inspect welds and ensure structural integrity
- Good physical fitness; ability to lift, bend, work in different positions, stand for extended periods
