Responsible for supporting the development and optimization of ResFracs simulation capabilities, focusing on implementing new modeling features, ensuring computational accuracy, and troubleshooting software bugs. Develop, implement, and validate new simulation features and capabilities under the guidance of senior team members to include application of Reservoir engineering principles including specifically multiphase flow in porous media, material balance analysis, enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Assist in optimizing computational performance for simulations. Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve software bugs using Python and Fortran. Collaborate with CTO and CIO on testing and deploying new simulator versions. Conduct simulation studies to validate new features and algorithms. Provide technical support for algorithm development and implementation and history- matching of reservoir simulation models using quasi-Newton optimization methods to calibrate fracture-related model parameters. Assist in applying numerical methods and computational models using Applied mathematics and numerical methods for partial differential equations (PDEs) as it relates to coupled subsurface flow and geo-mechanical processes, as well as heat transfer in geothermal reservoirs. Research computational methods to enhance simulator capabilities. Assist in developing proof-of-concept models using Multiphysics coupling in numerical simulation. Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in scientific computing. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for new features. Assist in developing training materials to educate internal teams on new capabilities. Support technical workshops and training sessions as needed. Develop and maintain user interface components for ResFracs simulation software, including features for parameters input, file management, and result visualization.
