MIG Welder
SAS Global Corporation Warren, MI
SAS Global Corporation is seeking a MIG Welder to manufacture engineered, fabricated metal parts. This hands-on position involves reading blueprints, producing and inspecting welds, and working safely with a variety of materials in a manufacturing shop.
What You'll Do
- Perform handheld MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, manganese steel, and mild steel with chromium carbide overlay.
- Read and interpret blueprints to meet job specifications.
- Inspect welds for quality and accuracy.
- Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and build up metal parts as needed.
- Complete required quality checks and documentation using the Quality Assurance Inspection Traveler for each job.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and work instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to use tape measures, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
- Basic shop math skills.
- Experience operating an overhead crane.
- Hi-Lo license.
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing shop with exposure to dust, dirt, and frequent loud noise. Duties include lifting materials weighing approximately 50 pounds.
