POSITION OVERVIEW
The Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Orthopedics department is seeking a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Hand Surgeon. We are open to meeting any interested candidates, especially those interested in a full upper extremity practice including open humerus and open shoulder surgery, but also very interested in candidates focused on a hand-to-elbow practice scope. You will join a thriving, highly collaborative, and supportive team of 9 surgeons in a standout department.
PRACTICE STRUCTURE & CALL SCHEDULE

- Call Schedule: Equal 1:10 call rotation shared among the group.
- Team Structure: A balanced group of 9 surgeons (2 existing Hand, 1 Shoulder/Elbow, 2 Sports, 2 Joint Reconstruction, and 2 General).
- Clinical Support: Supported by dedicated Orthopedic PAs, MAs, and orthopedic/cast technicians, allowing surgeons to focus entirely on high-quality patient care.
CLINICAL SCOPE & PRACTICE DETAILS
- Community Trauma: While we are not a designated trauma center, we treat a steady volume of community-level trauma, a significant portion of which involves the upper extremity. Replantation and microvascular surgeries are not expected or routinely performed here, as higher-volume regional referral centers manage this level of care.
- Focused Practice Boundaries: Dedicated Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine departments specialize in non-operative musculoskeletal care. Spine and foot/ankle surgeries are managed by separate departments and are not part of this practice, including during general orthopedics call.
- Professional Growth: Surgical mentorship, collaboration on complex cases, and leadership development opportunities are readily available.

Full-time annual salary range is $660,000 to $675,000 plus additional potential incentives up to $83,270 . Reduced schedules with pro-rated compensation may be available. Some incentive opportunities are estimates based on potential premium pay.

Requirements:
- Board Certification or Eligibility
- Must be eligible to obtain a CA medical license or be currently licensed to practice within CA
