POSITION SUMMARY: The QA Inspector verifies that manufacturing and packaging activities, materials, labels, and records meet approved instructions and quality requirements. Schedule: second shift, Monday through Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensure that correct components are staged for processing/manufacturing/packaging.
Authorize the start-up of processing/manufacturing/packaging operations.
o Perform cleaning verification and allergen swabbing as required by approved procedures.
Check batch record instructions and ensure they are followed.
Ensure all actions part of processing/manufacturing/packaging processes are signed and/or initialed where appropriate.
Monitor and collect data during all phases of processing/manufacturing/packaging for conformance to specifications and procedures.
o Perform in-process product testing, as applicable, including weight, density, disintegration, friability, and hardness; document and escalate results outside specifications.
Inspect all processing, manufacturing, and packaging rooms, materials. and equipment for accuracy to the batch record instructions.
Verify product, component, and label identity against batch records and written specifications. When color is part of an approved identification check, distinguish the required colors with or without reasonable accommodation; use written identifiers and other required checks in accordance with procedures.
o Review, approve, and issue labels for jobs in accordance with approved procedures.
Verify adherence to current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and good documentation practices (GDP).
o Observe applicable quality practices in production and warehouse areas; document and escalate concerns to the Quality Manager as appropriate.
CRITICAL OPERATING RELATIONSHIPS:
Interact with QC, Operations team, QA Department and Management
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have good oral and written communication skills
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Detail oriented
Ability to understand work instructions and accurately document quality results in the language used
for approved records and procedures, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
Must be able to perform mathematical calculations
Multitasking in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to work additional hours when needed, consistent with applicable law and reasonable accommodation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to communicate quality findings clearly to operators, QA, QC, and management.
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Working knowledge of cGMPs
