Summary CHS in Council Bluffs, IA is looking for a Hazmat Truck Driver to join our team! This individual would be responsible for hauling fuel to our local customers. This is a M-F home daily position with Saturdays as needed during our busy seasons. The ideal candidate would have a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements and 2+ years of tractor trailer experience. Join our team today! Responsibilities - Operate a semi-tractor and tanker trailer to deliver hazardous energy-grade materials to customer sites in a safe, compliant manner.
- Comply with DOT regulations and company policies for safe driving, including route and hazard awareness.
- Load and unload products by connecting/disconnecting loading arms and hoses; follow all hazardous material handling and transfer safety procedures.
- Deliver professional, customer-focused service during pickups and deliveries, coordinate with customers and internal teams.
- Prepare delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports; record accurate electronic logs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections; submit maintenance reports and escalate repair needs and equipment issues promptly.
- Immediately notify leadership of incidents, near misses, spills/releases, or safety concerns; execute required response and reporting procedures.
- Support related tasks such as equipment hookups, site readiness checks, and assigned duties
Minimum Qualifications (required) - Valid Class A or Class B CDL (as required for the equipment/route)
- Valid Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required
- 2+ years of verifiable CDL driving experience
- Must meet age requirement
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and complete required documentation accurately.
Additional Qualifications - Demonstrated experience hauling hazardous materials
- Demonstrated safety performance and consistent adherence to procedures in hazardous materials operations.
- Demonstrated customer service and communication skills; interact professionally with internal teams and customers.
- Demonstrated experience completing tanker product transfers (loading/unloading) and related documentation in a regulated environment.

Physical Requirements - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely climb in and out of truck cabs and to the top of a tanker trailer
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; travel and time away from home as required by the schedule
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in environments with regular exposure to hazardous materials.
