Shift Details 24-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 AM)
Call only coverage (Beeper call with a 30-minute response time)
Call ratio: 1:3
Callback rate: 100%
Average volume per 24 hours: 0-5 phone consults, 0-3 patients seen, 0-2 admissions
Requirements Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Active Missouri license or active IMLC
Active ACLS
Active ATLS
Active BLS
Required Procedures / Skills Upper GI endoscopy: biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection of varices
Esophageal dilatation / manometry and interpretation
Small bowel biopsy
Lower GI endoscopy
Sigmoidoscopy: flexible, rigid
Colonoscopy: biopsy, polyp excision
Liver biopsy
Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion/management
Assignment Details ERCP and EUS not required for ED or clinic call
Facility designations: Stroke-certified hospital, Level 2 Pediatric Trauma
Support staff: 4 RNs, 4 MAs, 1 APP
