Physician - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
- 24-hour call coverage required with shifts running 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
- Coverage needed for the following dates:
- 11/24/2026 7:00 AM 11/25/2026 7:00 AM
- 12/22/2026 7:00 AM and 12/29/2026 7:00 AM
- 1/5/2027 7:00 AM 1/8/2027 7:00 AM
- 2/1/2027 7:00 AM 2/2/2027 7:00 AM
- Ongoing locum coverage anticipated through end of 2026, with between 5 11 twenty-four-hour shifts per month
- Hospital ED/call and clinic call coverage; ERCP and EUS are not required
- No mid-level support available
- Patient encounters per shift: 4 10 patients
- 12-bed department
- Board certification required (minimum: Board Certified)
- ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required
- Trauma Level 3 facility; Pediatric Level 2
- Required procedural skills include:
- Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery/laser fulguration, injection of varices, and PEG placement)
- Esophageal dilatation, manometry, and manometry interpretation
- Small bowel biopsy
- Lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid), and colonoscopy (with biopsy and polyp excision)
- Liver biopsy
- Insertion and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
- Fellowship required
