Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited program
- Completed Internship and Residency
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- BLS and ACLS required
- Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state/territory/commonwealth
- Active DEA registration
- Minimum 1 year recent Gastroenterology experience
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and manage gastroenterological diseases and conditions
- Perform endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy)
- Interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans
- Admit, manage, and discharge GI patients as appropriate
- Provide consultations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Teach patients, families, and medical trainees
- Complete medical documentation within 72 hours in accordance with Joint Commission standards
- Participate in peer reviews, staff meetings, clinic operations, and training
- Support inpatient rounds and emergent care as needed
- Complete MEB documentation and fitness for duty evaluations as required
