Job description

Discover your next career destination as a Medical Director-Ambassador Travel Team at Sound

Sound Physicians is a physician-founded and led, patient-first medical group grounded in one belief: better support for clinicians leads to better care for patients. Our emergency medicine teams are empowered to lead care locally with the backing of a strong national network committed to clinical excellence, intentional leadership development, and collaborative partnership. Here, you'll practice alongside care teams that work seamlessly across Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, and Critical Care-creating smoother transitions, stronger accountability, and better outcomes for the communities we serve.

If you're looking for a place where your clinical judgment is valued, your growth is supported, and your work truly makes a difference, we'd love to talk.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • Join our team of elite travel emergency medicine physicians and APPs, where excellence in medical practice is a shared commitment.
  • Our group brings together professionals from all over the USA, creating a rich collaborative environment.
  • Accountable, on-site leadership: a local medical director who knows the community and owns the department's performance, supported by Sound's leadership-development tools.
  • Stable, well-staffed teams: cohesive teams aligned on our patient-first culture of excellence, which means less reliance on premium temp labor and more predictable shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified/eligible in emergency medicine.
  • ABEM or AOBEM eligible/certified.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Scheduling:

  • Enjoy the convenience of block scheduling, allowing for a better work-life balance.
  • Shift lengths vary between 10 and 12 hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to flex in and out of medical director duties as needed to support the leadership needs of the team.
  • Collaborate with fellow clinicians, taking on leadership opportunities to develop new team models and mentor new team members.
  • Participate in team meetings and initiatives, driving high-quality care and advancing our mission to improve bedside care.

Work-Life Balance at Sound:

  • Our flexible scheduling, which prioritizes family and outdoor activities, fosters a healthy work-life balance and promotes mutual support among colleagues.

Compensation:

  • Comprehensive rewards with W2 compensation at $325 per hour and a $124,800 stipend.
