- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles across designated local routes, ensuring on-time deliveries
- Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules
- Handle logistics cargo with precision, including hazardous materials and dangerous goods when qualified and compliant with FMCSA and hazardous materials regulations
- Comply strictly with DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA, and other regulatory requirements governing commercial truck driving and cargo handling
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, pickups, load and unload activities, and compliance logsQualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers is essential
- Proven delivery driver experience with knowledge of route driving in local settings
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and different trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Ability to handle freight safely through manual handling techniques; experience with forklift operation is a plus
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for commercial trucking
- Excellent navigation skills using GPS systems; ability to plan efficient routes under time constraints
- Physical ability to load/unload cargo manually or with equipment; capable of lifting heavy items safely
