Salary: $52,000 $85,000 annually

We are seeking a detail-oriented Grossing Technician to join an established, highly respected anatomic pathology laboratory in California's Central Valley!

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in surgical pathology, tissue handling, and gross examination who enjoys working in a collaborative laboratory environment.

The Grossing Technician works under the direction and supervision of a licensed, board-certified Pathologist and plays an essential role in preparing tissue specimens for diagnostic evaluation.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform gross examination and dictation of GI biopsies, prostate cores, small biopsies, and other tissue specimens.

• Prepare, describe, and appropriately handle surgical pathology specimens.

• Select representative tissue sections for embedding, staining, and microscopic evaluation.

• Ensure accurate specimen accessioning, labeling, and documentation.

• Photograph specimens when necessary.

• Collaborate with pathologists regarding special procedures and specimen handling.

• Maintain grossing stations, equipment, and laboratory supplies.

• Follow laboratory safety procedures, HIPAA requirements, and quality standards.

• Identify and resolve specimen discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate records using laboratory information systems.

• Associate of Science degree in Biological Sciences or a related field.

• Knowledge of human anatomy, histological techniques, and general laboratory procedures.

• Experience handling and preparing tissue specimens for pathological evaluation.

• Grossing and dictation experience strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic documentation.

• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with pathologists and laboratory staff.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Salary: $52,000 $85,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and other applicable factors.
