Commercial Roofing Service Foreman / Roof Maintenance Crew Leader for an established commercial roofing contractor in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area.
We're looking for someone with hands-on experience
troubleshooting roof leaks, making commercial roof repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and working with multiple roofing systems. This is NOT an entry-level roofing position. We're looking for someone who can troubleshoot roofing problems independently and take pride in fixing them correctly the first time. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Commercial Roof Leak Detection & Repairs- Investigate, diagnose, and repair commercial roof leaks.
- Identify sources of water infiltration around flashing, seams, penetrations, drains, and rooftop equipment.
- Repair and maintain EPDM, TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, built-up roofing (BUR), asphalt, and other roofing systems.
- Perform roof coatings, waterproofing, and preventative maintenance.
- Repair flashing around walls, curbs, vents, HVAC units, and other roof penetrations.
- Remove and replace damaged roofing materials, insulation, and related components.
- Complete roof inspections and identify potential problems before they become major leaks.
Crew Leadership & Customer Service- Lead and work alongside small roofing service crews, typically 1-5 employees.
- Train and assist less-experienced roofing technicians.
- Coordinate materials, tools, equipment, and daily repair activities.
- Communicate professionally with customers and supervisors.
- Document repairs, photographs, work performed, and material usage using a company-issued iPad.
- Maintain accurate job records and employee hours.
- Ensure roofing repairs meet applicable manufacturer specifications and safety requirements.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS- Hands-on commercial roofing installation, maintenance, and repair experience.
- Ability to independently locate and diagnose commercial roof leaks.
- Experience repairing multiple commercial roofing systems.
- Knowledge of flashing details, roof penetrations, seams, coatings, and waterproofing.
- Ability to lead or assist in directing a small roofing crew.
- Ability to perform repairs using appropriate tools, materials, and techniques.
- Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for job documentation.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to regional jobsites.
- Ability to work safely at heights, on ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
- Willingness to participate in rotating after-hours on-call assignments.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE- EPDM, TPO, and PVC membrane repairs
- Modified bitumen and built-up roofing (BUR)
- Commercial roof coatings and waterproofing
- Metal roofing, sheet metal flashing, and copper roofing
- Roof inspections and preventative maintenance
- Manufacturer-specific roofing repair procedures
- Commercial roofing service truck experience
- Previous Roofing Foreman, Crew Leader, or Lead Service Technician experience
We're particularly interested in roofers who have experience diagnosing and repairing leaks, not just installing new roofs. SCHEDULE - PLEASE READ Full-Time Variable Hours Approximately 40 Hours Per Week Commercial roofing service work requires flexibility.- Work may be scheduled during standard weekday business hours.
- Rain days are NOT automatically days off. Employees may be required to report for leak investigation or service work.
- Some days may require earlier or later working hours.
- Weekend work may occasionally be necessary.
- Employees participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergency roofing service.
- Overtime may be available depending on customer needs and project schedules.

WORK LOCATION & TRAVEL This position serves commercial and industrial customers throughout Central Pennsylvania, including the Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, and surrounding regions.
Travel to customer jobsites is required. Occasional overnight or multi-day travel may be necessary.
Work is performed outdoors, often on elevated roofs, in changing weather conditions, and around active commercial or industrial facilities.
Candidates must be able to perform the essential physical functions of commercial roofing work, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.
