- Case Types: All types except transplant and complex pediatrics
- Pediatrics: Basic cases only (e.g., tonsils, broken bones)
- Cardiac: 150 cases/month, including 100 TAVRs; 1 cardiac surgeon on staff
- Neuro: Minimal, only basic head cases
- GI: 9,932 cases annually (2,791 inpatient)
OB Anesthesia Details:
- OB Call: 24-hour call, not required to be in-house unless attending VBAC at 5cm+ (average 1.2 times/month, 3.5 hours in-house)
- Laboring Moms: Typically 3?4 at a time
- Monthly Deliveries: 200
- VBACs: 20 per month
- Emergent C-Sections: 14.5 per month
- Epidurals Placed: 46 per month
- Scheduled C-Sections: Treated as standard OR cases
Certifications Needed:
- Active or Eligible for Iowa Medical License
- Board Certification in Anesthesiology
- ACLS, BLS (preferred)
