Schedule: Monday- Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM; Possible rotation with Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM
Location: Rockford, IL 61108
Job Type: Local contract
Contract Length: 2 months with possibility of extension or conversion
Pay Range: $35.15 to $37.41/hour
Job Summary We are seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician I to support retail pharmacy operations at OSF HealthCare. The technician will assist pharmacists in processing medication orders, maintaining accurate records, and supporting safe and efficient medication dispensing under pharmacist supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists with processing and preparing medication orders according to established procedures.
- Support daily retail pharmacy operations and medication-related workflows.
- Use pharmaceutical and medical terminology to facilitate accurate order processing.
- Perform basic arithmetic calculations and utilize pharmacy computer systems, including EPIC as applicable.
- Maintain effective communication with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and patients.
- Follow pharmacy policies, safety standards, and drug-free workplace requirements.
- Perform duties requiring prolonged standing, walking, and lifting as needed.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred.
- Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated.
- Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT through PTCB or an accepted national certification) or an eligible active pharmacy student license.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong communication skills, basic arithmetic proficiency, and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Retail or hospital pharmacy experience.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
- Experience with EPIC and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to support medication-related needs across diverse patient age groups.
