Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Vaccine Coordinator
Location: 2 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204
Duration: 8 Months
Shift: 40 hours per week, typically 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3days onsite, 2days remote)
Position Overview
The Indiana Department of Health is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support vaccine coordination and immunization clinic operations throughout Indiana. The selected candidates will assist with vaccine inventory management, proper storage and handling, vaccine preparation and administration, patient documentation, and maintaining safe and efficient clinic operations.
This role requires travel to vaccination clinics across Indiana, along with onsite attendance and meetings at the Indianapolis office.
Required Qualifications
- Active, current, and unencumbered Indiana LPN license required.
- Previous clinic experience is preferred based on the listed skills section.
- Ability to administer vaccines and follow appropriate dosing and administration-route procedures.
- Ability to accurately document vaccinations in the immunization registry.
- Knowledge of vaccine inventory management, temperature monitoring, storage, and handling.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to educate and support patients and maintain a positive clinic experience.
- Knowledge of nursing care principles, sanitary conditions, and patient hygiene.
- Ability to maintain accurate patient records and prepare reports.
- Ability to safely administer medications and treatments within the scope of practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, registered nurses, clinic staff, and other personnel.
