Position Overview
The Eye Institute is seeking a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join our clinical team in the Northeast region. This position is ideal for a physician looking to establish a robust general practice within a physician-led, integrated health system. Currently, this role is focused on clinical and surgical productivity and does not include resident teaching responsibilities, providing the physician with dedicated time to manage their own patient panel and surgical cases.
Clinical and Surgical Scope
As a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist, you will manage a diverse range of ocular conditions with a focus on high-quality surgical outcomes and clinical efficiency. The scope of this role includes:
- Management of general ophthalmology patient volumes within a clinical setting.
- Regular surgical block time for standard procedures (e.g., cataracts and other comprehensive surgeries).
- Standardized clinical workflows designed for high-volume provider support.
Weekly Schedule & Call Rotation
The position offers a stable and predictable work-life balance. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend clinic hours. Call responsibilities follow a 1 in 8 rotation, shared among the regional medical team.
Support Staff
Our physicians are supported by a professional team of 1-2 dedicated ophthalmology technicians to assist with patient flow and diagnostics. Additionally, our practice provides scribe support for physicians who meet high-volume thresholds (regularly seeing 30-35+ patients per day), allowing for streamlined documentation and increased patient engagement.
