Salary: $25 - $26 per hour A bit about us: We are working with an established manufacturing organization in Willoughby looking to add an experienced Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist for an immediate contract opening. This role is focused heavily on B2B collections, past-due accounts and AR aging. We are looking for someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, contacting commercial customers regarding outstanding invoices, identifying what is preventing payment and working through discrepancies to get accounts resolved. This is expected to be an approximately 6-month assignment with a full-time onsite schedule. Interviews are moving quickly. Why join us? $24-$26/hour Approximately 6-month contract assignment Immediate opening Full-time, consistent schedule Established manufacturing organization Strong accounting and finance team Fast interview process Potential for additional opportunity depending on business needs Job Details As an Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist, you will manage a portfolio of commercial customer accounts with a primary focus on past-due collections and reducing outstanding AR balances. Responsibilities Manage B2B accounts receivable and commercial collections Review AR aging reports and prioritize past-due customer accounts Contact customers by phone and email regarding delinquent and outstanding invoices Follow up consistently on payment commitments and past-due balances Determine the reason invoices remain unpaid and work toward resolution Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, deductions, short payments and billing issues Work with customers to obtain missing purchase orders, invoice documentation or other information required for payment Research account balances and customer payment history Reconcile customer accounts and resolve outstanding balance discrepancies Process and research credits, debits and adjustments Assist with cash application and unapplied payments as needed Document collection activity, customer communication and payment commitments Partner with internal sales, customer service and accounting teams to resolve customer disputes Maintain accurate customer account records within the ERP system Assist with additional accounts receivable projects and backlog as needed Qualifications Previous Accounts Receivable and B2B Collections experience Hands-on experience collecting past-due commercial accounts Experience working directly from an AR aging report Comfortable making outbound collection calls and following up with customers Experience resolving invoice disputes, deductions, short pays and payment discrepancies Strong customer account reconciliation skills Understanding of invoices, payments, credits and account adjustments Ability to manage a high volume of customer accounts and competing collection priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and follow-through Microsoft Excel experience Experience with ERP/accounting systems Manufacturing, industrial or distribution experience is strongly preferred Ability to work onsite in Willoughby, OH Available to start quickly Someone coming from a manufacturing, distribution, industrial or other B2B environment who has owned a customer aging portfolio and is comfortable proactively pursuing past-due balances would be a strong fit.
