Structural Welder

We are seeking a Structural Welder in LaPlace, Louisiana, to fabricate and repair carbon-steel frames in accordance with AWS standards. These structural welding jobs are permanent and have weekly overtime. This role involves structural welding, metal fabrication, material preparation, joint assembly, and quality control, with a strong focus on safety and precision. Quality is supported through welder self-inspection, a dedicated quality team, and multiple inspection methods, with opportunities to progress to a Lead Welder role.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints for steel-frame fabrication and repair.
• Perform structural welding on carbon steel.
• Fabricate and assemble metal components and structural joints.
• Prepare materials for welding and fabrication.
• Conduct welder self-inspections and support quality-team inspections.
• Apply AWS standards and maintain quality-control requirements.
• Perform precision measurements to ensure accurate fit and alignment.
• Follow safety requirements and maintain a safe work area.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural welding experience.
• Training in welding or metal fabrication.
• Experience with stick welding and flux-cored arc welding.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, welding inspection, and metal fabrication.
• Precision measurement skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
