ICON Medical Network is seeking a General Dentist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Fortuna, CA. This position is ideal for a compassionate, well-rounded provider who enjoys working with patients of all ages in a community health setting.
The practice serves a diverse patient population, with approximately 50% pediatric and 50% adult patients. The ideal candidate is comfortable providing comprehensive general dentistry, evaluating urgent dental concerns, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.
Assignment Details
Position: Locum Tenens General Dentist
Dates: October 26, 2026 January 25, 2027, with potential for ongoing coverage
Schedule:
Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Must be available during Christmas week
Practice closed Christmas Day
Clinical Details
Community health center setting
Patient population: Approximately 50% children and 50% adults
General dentistry and comprehensive patient evaluations
Assessment and management of urgent dental needs
Patient education, diagnosis, and treatment planning

What You'll Do
Provide comprehensive dental examinations and evaluate oral health needs
Diagnose dental conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
Deliver quality dental care to pediatric and adult patients
Evaluate and manage emergency dental concerns
Maintain accurate patient documentation and continuity of care
Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure efficient patient flow
Provide compassionate, patient-centered treatment
Requirements
DDS or DMD from an accredited dental program
Active California dental license
Current BLS certification
Board eligible or board certified, as applicable
Experience treating both pediatric and adult patients
Comfortable evaluating urgent dental concerns
Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a community health setting
