Critical Care/ICU/PICU/NICU Physician Assistant

A medical services network in Brooklyn, New York is seeking a licensed Physician Assistant (PA) to provide advanced inpatient care in a high-acuity cardiothoracic setting.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Days or Nights
• Schedule: 3 x 13-hour shifts per week, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Hours:7am to 8pmor 7pm to 8am
• Setting: Hospital, critical care floor

Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient coverage in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit and cardiothoracic stepdown unit
• Conduct patient rounds and manage daily patient care needs
• Handle admissions, discharges, and inpatient consultations
• Place orders and perform bedside procedures
• Manage preoperative and postoperative cardiothoracic patients and respond to codes, including open chest events

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program.
• Active NYS Physician Assistant (PA) license
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Experience working as a Physician Assistant in a cardiothoracic or critical care setting

Desired Skills:

• Experience with EPIC
• Proficiency with arterial line placement, central line placement, chest tube removal, Swan-Ganz catheter placement, balloon pump removal, and code management
• Experience supporting high-acuity cardiothoracic ICU and stepdown patient populations
