Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Employment type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Possible Saturdays
Reports to: Office Manager

About the roleThe LVN provides hands-on patient care alongside our physicians and providers. In a busy walk-in setting, you'll prepare patients for their visits, assist providers, give medications, injections, and IVs, and help every patient leave feeling informed and cared for.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and take vital signs, height, weight, and medical history
- Document visits accurately in Athena
- Give medications, injections, and immunizations as ordered by the provider
- Start peripheral IVs and give IV fluids and medications as ordered by the provider
- Perform point-of-care tests such as glucose, urinalysis, strep, flu, and COVID
- Draw blood and collect lab specimens
- Assist providers with exams and minor procedures
- Perform EKGs, wound care, and dressing changes
- Help with DOT physicals and workers' compensation visits, including drug screens and required paperwork
- Teach patients about medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
- Return patient calls as directed by providers
- Help with prior authorizations and referrals as needed
- Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain medical supplies
- Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
Required qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
- Active, unrestricted Texas LVN license
- Current BLS (CPR) certification
- Strong clinical skills, including injections and vital signs
- Caring, professional, and patient with every patient
- Organized and able to keep up with a busy clinic
