Locums - Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, Hospice & Palliative Care Job

Schedule & Coverage:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Primarily remote, with initial onsite orientation and occasional in-person visits as needed
Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings every other week, Tuesday-Thursday
Rotating telephone-only call coverage every fourth week, Sunday-Saturday
Practice Details:
Hospice and palliative medicine
Primarily remote practice setting
Patient population: Primarily adult hospice patients
EMR: Epic
Support from an interdisciplinary hospice team, nursing staff, and clinical support staff
Nursing staff handle in-person visits and death pronouncements
Clinical Responsibilities:
Complete hospice admissions and eligibility assessments
Perform hospice recertifications and provide verbal certifications
Manage patient symptoms and prescribe medications
Provide clinical oversight and support to the hospice care team
Complete required clinical documentation
Complete death certificates as needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
Active Missouri medical license
Active DEA
Hospice experience required
Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine preferred
Internal Medicine or Hospitalist board certification/background may be considered with demonstrated hospice experience
