POSITION OVERVIEW
Magna Talent is recruiting a Graduate Engineer for a civil engineering consulting firm specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure in New Braunfels, Texas.
We're seeking a motivated Civil Engineering graduate with strong technical skills, experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and an interest in municipal infrastructure design.
The ideal candidate has some experience in civil engineering design, hydraulic modeling, or water/wastewater infrastructure projects and is interested in continuing professional development toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
This opportunity provides hands-on exposure to engineering design, project development, construction administration, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist project managers and senior engineers with civil engineering projects.
- Support project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and design development.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and hydraulic models.
- Assist with designs for water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, pump stations, lift stations, and related infrastructure.
- Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to prepare engineering plans and design drawings.
- Assist with technical specifications, contract documents, and construction estimates.
- Support project bidding, contractor coordination, and construction administration.
- Participate in construction observation and project site visits.
- Coordinate technical information with project managers, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Review drawings, calculations, and project documentation for accuracy.
- Assist with regulatory review and engineering compliance requirements.
- Develop technical knowledge and engineering skills through increasingly complex projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- Active Texas Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months of employment.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles.
- Good mathematical, analytical, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare and review engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard engineering software.
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to work full-time in New Braunfels, Texas.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience in civil engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of AutoCAD or Civil 3D design experience.
- Experience with water or wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with hydraulic modeling, water distribution, wastewater collection, pump stations, and lift stations.
- Knowledge of drainage, roadway, and municipal infrastructure design.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Previous experience working for a civil engineering consulting firm.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Fieldwork may involve outdoor construction environments, uneven terrain, elevated access points, and varying weather conditions.
