POSITION OVERVIEW
Magna Talent is recruiting an experienced Senior Project Engineer specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure for an established civil engineering consulting firm in New Braunfels, Texas.
We're seeking a licensed Texas Professional Engineer (PE) with at least 4 years of relevant civil engineering experience, preferably 8 or more, who can independently manage public and private water/wastewater projects.
The ideal candidate has experience in municipal infrastructure, water distribution systems, wastewater collection, pump and lift stations, treatment facilities, hydraulic modeling, and construction administration.
This position combines technical engineering leadership, project management, client coordination, and the opportunity to help expand the firm's project portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage civil engineering projects from initial scoping through design, bidding, and construction.
- Develop and oversee project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client communication.
- Lead engineering design for public and private water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, hydraulic models, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Oversee designs involving treatment plants, water storage facilities, pump stations, lift stations, distribution systems, and wastewater collection networks.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, funding organizations, contractors, and multidisciplinary consultants.
- Manage bidding processes, construction administration, and construction observation.
- Review engineering drawings and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Direct technical work performed by graduate engineers, EITs, CAD technicians, and subconsultants.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D to prepare and supervise engineering design work.
- Support business development through client relationships, project identification, proposals, and Statements of Qualifications (SOQs).
- Maintain communication with municipal clients, project stakeholders, and community partners.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
- Active Engineer in Training (EIT) certification as specified by the employer.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in civil engineering consulting or a related agency.
- Strong experience designing municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Experience with engineering project management, budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of engineering design standards, regulatory requirements, and construction documentation.
- Strong technical problem-solving and project leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate technical teams.
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of civil engineering experience.
- 2+ years of engineering project management experience.
- Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Experience with Texas municipal infrastructure projects.
- Established relationships with local municipalities, regulatory agencies, or public-sector organizations.
- Experience preparing SOQs, proposals, and project estimates.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time position based in New Braunfels, Texas, combining office-based engineering with field visits and construction observation.
Travel to project sites and client offices is required and may involve driving 50 miles or more per day.
Fieldwork may include outdoor construction environments, uneven terrain, elevated access points, and variable weather conditions.
