Overview As a Construction Lead Principal, you will drive tower construction programs for a major U.S. energy provider. You'll lead safety driven execution with cross functional teams to meet project schedules and ensure compliant, high quality builds. You will interpret drawings, reviews, and testing results to guide field operations and contractor collaboration. The role combines hands on oversight with strategic coordination across engineering, project management, and safety groups. This is a high impact position at a large utility focused on reliable, innovative energy delivery.
Responsibilities- Evaluate contractor submissions for work, lift, and rigging plans to ensure standards compliance
- Analyze concrete, soil, moisture, resistivity, and other material tests
- Review RF considerations and educate site teams on RF safety
- Collaborate with Wireless, Transport, Civil Engineering and Project Management to refine drawings and specifications
- Coordinate pre-construction bid walks and provide feedback for contractor bid awards
- Support outage planning, constructability reviews, and labor/safety coverage planning
- Attend project status and scheduling meetings; communicate progress and issues
- Supervise FCRs (field construction representatives), assign tasks, training, and overtime coordination
- Assist with change orders, lifecycle processes, attestation, and FMP adherence
- Educate and develop FCRs; ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards
- Support regional storm restoration with CM and contractor labor
- Take on extra duties and committees as assigned by Manager
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Safety, or related field and 8 years of experience in telecom tower construction or wireless infrastructure projects (or ABET equivalent)
- Alternate: Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Construction Management, Safety, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field and 10 years of experience
- Or high school diploma with 12 years of direct telecom tower construction or related experience

- Ability to read tower structural drawings, rigging plans, civil site plans, grounding diagrams, RF installation specs
- Knowledge of ANSI/TIA standards (e.g., 222, 322), grounding/bonding and other telecom construction guidelines
- Experience with rigging operations (gin pole setup, lift planning, load calculations)
