Gastroenterology Physician

Job Title: Medical Director, Liver Transplantation Center
Support and time commitment: 25% FTE
Term and Reappointment: 3 years with annual review

Medical Director, Liver Transplantation Center is a physician leader, jointly accountable to the Service
Line Vice President, the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, and the clinical section chief that works to
advance the delivery of clinical care and operational performance of the Liver Transplant Center in
partnership with dyad nursing partner, administrative leadership, or other key stakeholders. The
incumbent medical director is accessible to the Liver Transplant Center during routine hours for
escalation of issues, clinical or operational, as they arise. The incumbent medical director will provide
oversight, feedback, and ensure accountability for physician performance on the Liver Transplant
Center, including escalation of issues as needed, regardless of the physician's clinical discipline,
employment, or other factors. The incumbent medical director will also collaborate with patient
experience, regulatory affairs, social work, or any other work group as necessary. The inpatient medical
director will also serve as a partner in, and be accountable for, the implementation of process
improvement, quality and safety, access, patient experience, or any other improvement project in the
Liver Transplant Center, including but not limited to the engagement, monitoring, and performance of
the clinical teams providing care on the Liver Transplant Center, either primary team or consulting
service.
