Pharmacy Fill Technician
Location: Norfolk, VA (On-site)
Pay: $21.00/hr (W2)
Schedule options (Evening shift):
- 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM (alternating weekends; day off during the week), or
- 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM, or
- 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Overtime/holidays/weekends may be required as needed.
Position Summary
We're hiring a Pharmacy Fill Technician to support prescription fulfillment operations. You'll be responsible for accurately pulling, labeling, scanning, and preparing medications for pharmacist verification while keeping the work area organized and compliant.
What You'll Do
- Pull/pick medications from shelving and other storage areas (including pre-pack racks)
- Label, scan, and prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification
- Perform accuracy checks on final prep before pharmacist review
- Assist with returned medications per procedure (recycle/dispose)
- Pre-pack frequently ordered medications during low-volume times
- Maintain clean/organized workstations and replenish supplies
- Follow HIPAA and all applicable regulations
- Alert pharmacist when products are not scanning properly
- Follow safety, attendance, and dress code expectations
- Perform other duties based on business needs
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license/certification (as required by your state)
- Pharmacy experience preferred (long-term care pharmacy experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of brand/generic medications
- Reliable, detail-oriented, able to work at a steady pace
- Ability to stand/sit for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
