Ensign Physical Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Lakewood, New Jersey. Work Environment
This role is performed primarily onsite in a well-equipped hospital environment in Lakewood, offering a supportive and dynamic workspace. The position requires a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to meet patient needs and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct physical therapy as directed by a licensed physical therapist, ensuring adherence to individualized treatment plans that facilitate patient recovery and wellbeing.
- Employ a variety of therapeutic techniques, including active and passive exercises, muscle reeducation, and gait training, to help patients regain function and independence.
- Utilize various physical agents, such as heat, cold, and ultrasound, to contribute to effective treatment outcomes.
- Provide guidance and instruction on the correct use of mobility aids and orthotic devices, enhancing patient safety and mobility.
- Document clinical findings and treatment responses accurately and timely, ensuring that patient records are up-to-date and compliant.
- Engage in collaborative team discussions and contribute to interdisciplinary meetings focused on optimizing patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery and patient satisfaction.
- Stay informed about advancements in physical therapy practices to ensure the highest standard of care.
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the clinic operations and patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily support patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and various physical ailments that limit mobility and function. Our diverse client population includes individuals of all ages, requiring tailored approaches to care based on their specific rehabilitation needs.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited physical therapy assistant program, possessing an Associate's degree in science or applied science recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Validation of a current state certification or licensure as mandated by New Jersey regulations.
- Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) must be current and maintained.
- A valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle in compliance with state and organizational requirements.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of professional experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, ideally in a hospital or rehabilitation facility.
- Proven ability to effectively interact with patients and multidisciplinary teams, fostering a positive therapeutic environment.
Compensation and Benefits
