We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for an ASAP, ongoing locum assignment in New Jersey. This is a full-time opportunity combining outpatient clinic and procedural coverage with a consistent weekday schedule and no call.
Assignment Details
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: Ongoing
- Full-time coverage
- 3 clinic days + 2 procedure days per week
- Active New Jersey license or IMLC required
Schedule
- Monday Friday
- 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
- 3 clinic days per week
- 2 scope/procedure days per week
- Clinic and procedure days are flexible
- No Friday afternoon sessions
- No call
Practice Setting
- Outpatient Gastroenterology with hospital-based procedural responsibilities
- Procedures performed at a nearby surgical center or hospital
- Anesthesia provided for procedures
- Provider works independently in the office with established PA and MA support
Patient Volume
- Approximately 24 patients per clinic day
- Approximately procedures per scope day
Clinical Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat general GI conditions, including Crohn s disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS, and other digestive disorders
- Provide dietary and nutritional guidance and referrals as appropriate
- Provide GI consultations when requested
- Supervise the APP within the practice

- Sigmoidoscopy
- Upper endoscopy
- Duodenoscopy
- Gastroscopy
- Barium swallow
- ERCP
Support Staff
- Physician Assistant
- Medical Assistant
- Established office support staff
- PA and support staff handle first calls after hours, with urgent matters escalated to the physician
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Active New Jersey license or IMLC
- Comfortable with ERCP and the listed endoscopic procedures
- Ability to supervise the practice's APP
