Position: Computer-Aided Drafter
Location: Dugway Proving Ground
Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Computer-Aided Drafter to join our team and support our design projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for using advanced drafting software to produce detailed technical drawings for a variety of industries.
Qualifications: A minimum of two years of work-related experience with CAD Software. Must be able to create, modify, and update drawings as necessary to meet contract requirements.
Education Required: Must possess a 2-year associate degree or 1-year certificate program in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD).
Purpose of Classification: Reports directly to the Project Manager or their designated representative. Computer Aided Drafter will be responsible for maintaining drawing database for utility and facility drawings. Make necessary changes to existing drawings as required to reflect actual installation or modifications made in the field. Produce drawings for Government personnel within required timeframes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain computer-generated drawings and technical specifications
Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create technical drawings and schematics
Collaborate with engineers and other design professionals to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings
Create, modify and update drawings based on changes in design or engineering specifications
Ensure drawings meet industry standards and regulations
Maintain accurate records of drawings and design specifications
Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with drawings
Provide support to project teams as needed
May be required to assist with utility locating as needed
May be required to assist with utility meter reading as needed
Special Knowledge / Skills Required:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Creates accurate 2D drawings and 3D models from engineering specifications
Applies proper dimensioning, tolerancing, and drafting standards
Identifies and corrects design inconsistencies before drawings are released
Works fluently within CAD software environments
Maintains organized drawing libraries and revision control
Collaborate with engineers to clarify design intent and specifications
Communicates drawing changes clearly to manufacturing or construction teams
Must possess valid State Driver's License
