DUTIES - Independently design, develop, and optimize cell-based functional and biochemical assays (reporter gene, ELISA, AlphaLISA) to characterize biological activity of therapeutic protein candidates; own assay strategy and execution end-to-end across multiple pipeline programs - Author, program, and iteratively refine liquid handling protocols on integrated robotic platforms; onboard assays into semi-automated and fully automated workflows from concept through qualification, improving throughput and data consistency at scale - Validate automated assay workflows through formal Assay Data Reviews (ADRs); assess signal-to-noise ratios, plate-to-plate reproducibility, and spatial variability; implement corrective measures to meet data quality standards for machine learning model training - Plan and execute high-throughput screening campaigns for pipeline programs; manage instrument scheduling, sample logistics, and real-time data quality to deliver timely, decision enabling datasets - Analyze and visualize multi-condition screening data using Spotfire, Bender, and Jarvis; leverage custom GPTs and AI-assisted tools for troubleshooting, data visualization, and workflow optimization; interpret results and communicate scientific findings to extended cross-functional program teams as an embedded team contributor - Train peers on automated instruments and assay protocols; own instrument stewardship and lead troubleshooting of hardware and software issues; collaborate across biology, data science, and automation teams to scale assay capacity across the organization REQUIREMENTS Education: U.S. Masters degree, or foreign equivalent, in Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering or a related field. Experience: Two years of experience as a Research Associate or similar lab-based role in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
