Solar Doctors LLC is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Solar Site Surveyor to join our growing team. This position involves traveling to residential and commercial properties throughout Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia to collect the information needed for solar installations, service work, battery projects, and removal/reinstall projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform residential and commercial solar site surveys
- Safely access and inspect rooftops using ladders
- Measure roof dimensions, roof pitch, and available installation areas
- Inspect and document attic/roof framing when required
- Take clear photos of roofs, electrical panels, utility meters, attics, and existing solar equipment
- Record equipment model numbers, serial numbers, breaker sizes, and electrical service information
- Identify existing solar panels, inverters, microinverters, optimizers, disconnects, and monitoring equipment
- Document potential locations for solar, battery, inverter, and electrical equipment
- Identify conduit/wiring routes and potential installation challenges
- Document roof access, ladder requirements, steep roofs, three-story properties, and other jobsite conditions
- Upload complete survey photos, measurements, and notes after each appointment
- Communicate professionally with homeowners and customers
- Follow all company ladder, roof, and electrical safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working on roofs
- Comfortable working at heights and occasionally accessing attics
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and manage multiple appointments
- Comfortable using a smartphone/tablet for photos, measurements, and documentation
- Solar, electrical, roofing, construction, or site-survey experience is preferred
- Solar experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate
