Pathology Physician

Join a collaborative hospital-based pathology team as a locum tenens Pathology Physician in DuBois, Pennsylvania. • Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Contract Duration: Approximately 13 weeks
• Coverage Schedule: November 16-22 and December 7-13, with additional coverage needs during the contract period
• Shift Duration: 12-hour coverage blocks, which may run from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $5,460-$5,850
• Annual Volume: Approximately 18,000 surgical pathology cases and 4,000 cytology cases
• Patient Population: Adult patients
• Technology: Cerner EMR and Voicebrook dictation system
• Credentialing: Estimated 3-4 weeks after acceptance when documentation is completed promptly
• Selection Process: Virtual slide review with the medical director or pathology team may be required

• MD or DO degree
• Board certification in Pathology; genuinely board-eligible physicians may be considered
• Required fellowship training
• At least 1 year of pathology experience required; 1-2 years preferred
• Active Pennsylvania physician license required; physicians eligible for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact may be considered
• Experience with Cerner EMR and electronic pathology documentation
• Demonstrated competency in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology
• Current CV with education and work history listed in month/year format
• Employment gaps of 30 days or more must be explained in the CV or candidate presentation

• Provide diagnostic anatomic and clinical pathology services for an adult patient population
• Interpret surgical pathology, cytology, and related laboratory specimens
• Evaluate gastrointestinal, fluid, lymphoma, gynecologic, breast, and lung pathology cases
• Perform and interpret fine-needle aspiration procedures associated with radiology and endoscopy
• Perform frozen section evaluations
• Collaborate with pathology assistants who provide grossing support
• Work with histotechnology and pathology team members to ensure accurate, timely diagnoses
• Use in-house immunohistochemistry resources as part of the diagnostic evaluation
• Participate in scheduled coverage and call responsibilities as assigned
• Communicate effectively with medical staff and interdisciplinary hospital teams
