Job description
The Miranda Group is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of landscaping vehicles, trucks, and heavy-duty machinery. This role is critical to keeping our operations running efficiently across Kauai.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on:
- Diesel trucks and work vehicles
- Landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
- Heavy-duty machinery (excavators, skid steers, loaders)
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to minimize downtime
- Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, and other major components
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards
- Coordinate with management on equipment needs and repair priorities
- Assist with emergency repairs in the field when needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a diesel and/or heavy equipment mechanic
- Strong knowledge of: Diesel engines, Hydraulic systems, and Electrical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues independently
- Experience working with landscaping or construction equipment preferred
- Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Preferred (Not Required)
- ASE Certification or equivalent experience
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Experience with fleet maintenance programs
