Overview In this role you perform clinical laboratory testing with precision to support accurate diagnoses. You will ensure compliance with SOPs, manage daily section operations, and uphold quality throughout testing and specimen handling. You'll operate LIS and laboratory instrumentation, while training staff and contributing to continuous improvement. You join a collaborative lab team within a mission-driven healthcare system focused on transforming patient care.
Responsibilities- Perform and report test results across waived, moderate, and high complexity procedures per SOPs
- Ensure specimen collection, labeling, handling, and patient/result identification accuracy
- Participate in QC and QM, evaluate results, and escalate issues as needed
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and perform routine checks
- Monitor supplies, manage inventory, and ensure reagent availability and expiration tracking
- Troubleshoot technical problems with guidance from appropriate personnel
- Comply with Prisma Health policies, and applicable governmental/accrediting standards
- Provide competency assessments, staff training, and coordinate special projects or tasks
Key requirements- Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
- 2 years of Clinical Laboratory Experience
- MT (ASCP) or MLS (ASCP) cm or Categorical (ASCP) or MT (AMT) or MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) certification
- Computer skills; Microsoft Word and Excel required
