What You ll Do
- Support cardiothoracic surgery teams, primarily working with surgeons to assist with adult patient care
- Manage 10-15 CVICU/step-down patients daily and assist in 1-2 surgeries per day
- Perform procedures such as temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
- Participate in call coverage from 3:00 PM 7:00 AM as needed
- Collaborate within the CT Surgery department using Cerner EMR systems
- Contribute to patient assessments, prepare reports, and assist in post-operative care
- Support the surgical team with perioperative and inpatient procedures
What You Need
Required: - Board Certified or eligible Physician Assistant (PA) license in Arizona
- DEA license
- Minimum of 3 years experience in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH proficiency
- Graduation from an NCCPA-approved university program or Master's Degree in Nursing (with relevant experience)
- Certification in ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)
Preferred: - Experience with adult cardiothoracic patients in a hospital setting
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR system
